McDermott Associates Announces 2012 Executive Compensation Survey Tailored to Middle Market Companies

Executive Compensation Specialists D.G. McDermott Associates announce a new executive compensation survey just for middle market companies

Red Bank, NJ (PRWEB) May 10, 2012

D.G. McDermott Associates and PRESIDENT&CEO Magazine announce the rollout of a new Executive Compensation Survey specifically designed for middle market companies. The survey gives company owners the opportunity to compare their executive compensation and benefits plans to industry and the broader market.

Though pay practices continue to take center stage, middle market businesses have not had sources for reliable, unbiased third party data that can help them benchmark their executive pay and benefits plans against a broad cross-section of similar companies.

“Most of the scrutiny has been on executive compensation at Fortune 500 companies,” says Don McDermott, owner and principal of D.G. McDermott Associates, a Red Bank, NJ, management consulting firm. “The 2012 Middle Market Executive Compensation Survey is the first tailored for public and private middle-market companies that will offer confidential, real-world comparisons to other middle-market companies.”

McDermott Associates, with consulting specialties in human resources and executive compensation, developed this survey in collaboration with PRESIDENT&CEO magazine, the publication for and about middle market executives.

The cost for survey participation is $ 495 per company and enrollment is open until May 31, 2012. Survey participants will receive a customized analysis for 19 senior management titles. Comparisons by position, then by geographic area, revenues, ownership type, and industry category will also be provided.

Those interested in the survey can learn more at http://www.dgm.com/surveyinfo or by calling D.G. McDermott Associates at 732.842.8634. Those who want to enroll can do so at http://www.dgm.com/MidMktExecCompSurvey.

New Healthline.com Interactive Map Visualizes Correlation between Type 2 Diabetes and Access to Fresh Food, Poverty Levels

New Healthline.com Interactive Map Visualizes Correlation between Type 2 Diabetes and Access to Fresh Food, Poverty Levels

Diabetes Incidence Data Visualization

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 16, 2012

Healthline.com, a leading source of online health and wellness information, today published a new visual interactive tool that analyzes county-level diabetes incidence and the overlap with average household income levels, poverty rates, and “food deserts” – areas where healthy, affordable food is unavailable. Using data from the US Census and the CDC’s Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, Healthline has created the first multi-tiered tool to examine adult diabetes on a national scale in conjunction with relevant socio-economic factors. This comprehensive approach to visualizing and understanding diabetes rates will allow researchers, payers, healthcare providers, advocacy organizations and public health agencies to better understand regional risk factors and identify potential solutions.

Color-coded and user-friendly, the interactive map allows viewers to select an individual state or county for detailed information or watch the entire map change as they filter out counties by diabetes, food desert, income, or poverty criteria. Healthline has translated the CDC’s disease-rate maps to provide users a better understanding of the correlation of disease to a combination of health and economic data. The map is easily scalable and customizable to allow users to set specific percentage or dollar ranges for their desired combination of factors on the map.

The American Diabetic Association believes the number of diabetic adults in the U.S. is more than 25 million and growing swiftly. Healthline is committed to developing educational and novel online health tools and today’s release of this interactive map helps users easily comprehend and compare areas with the highest and lowest rates of diagnosed diabetes, food deserts, incomes, and poverty rates.

Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum Establishes Statewide Network to Improve Patient Care

Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum Establishes Statewide Network to Improve Patient Care

Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum

Baton Rouge, LA (PRWEB) August 10, 2011

The Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum is on the fast track to develop the Louisiana Health Information Exchange (LaHIE), which will give providers access to health records and connect existing sources of patient data within the state. To accomplish this, the Quality Forum has selected Orion Health as its primary technology provider.

“This important decision has been reached due to the efforts of many dedicated Quality Forum stakeholders that include providers, payers, employers and consumers across the state. Their expertise in reviewing and assessing technology solutions from many vendors was invaluable. The states of Maine and Alaska, as well as multiple different regional and provider exchanges, rely on Orion Health to deliver their performance objectives. We are excited to soon offer health care providers in Louisiana a powerful, secure and comprehensive exchange solution,” commented Cindy Munn, the Quality Forum’s Executive Director.

According to Munn, the initial focus of the project will be to develop secure point-to-point messaging to help providers access critical health information and to achieve Meaningful Use quickly.

Additional benefits of LaHIE are designed to improve timely access to patient information, improve patient safety, increase security of records, increase consumer engagement, more adequately measure and improve public health benchmarks and reduce health care costs.

“LaHIE is another critical step in our ambitious agenda to improve health care services in our state and the health of our residents,” said DHH Secretary Bruce D. Greenstein. “While DHH has been working closely with health care providers to enhance the use of electronic health records, bringing this additional information technology into our health care marketplace will make the current technology use more meaningful and make our state more efficient. Louisianians deserve the highest level of patient safety and enhanced access to care when and where they need it. I am grateful for the hard work and dedication of our providers, stakeholders and leadership of the Quality Forum as we continue working in partnership on efforts that improve the health and lives of our state’s residents.”

Quality Forum President Karen DeSalvo, MD, reiterated that the selection of Orion Health’s technology platform for LaHIE is a crucial step forward for improving patient care in Louisiana. “The Forum is also in a unique position to assist physicians who want to join the network. Our experiences with creating LaHIE and managing the Louisiana Health Information Technology (LHIT) Resource Center have provided us with an informed perspective on what help health care workers need to get up to speed quickly with technology,” she added.

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) approved the Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum’s strategic and operational plan for LaHIE earlier this year. The Quality Forum is a private, not-for-profit organization that serves as the State-Designated Entity to plan and implement LaHIE, to oversee the state’s regional extension center and to lead initiatives designed to improve health care quality for Louisiana residents.
